TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Iran finished third at the world school cross-country running race in Remini, Italy, Monday.

In the "Champion School" section, Iran followed the title-winning Turkey and runner-up China.

The fourth to ninth places went to Algeria, England, Ireland, Sweden, Italy, and Switzerland respectively.

Iran's cross-country team also took the third title in the 2002 world meet in Morocco.

In the "Student All-Star" category, Iran ranked eighth while Algeria, Australia, Spain, England, and Italy stood top to fifth respectively.

Twelve runners represented Iran in the boys' events that started on April 8.
